Absolutely breathtaking: Scarlett Johansson stars as Nicole, a mother undergoing a divorce, in the upcoming film Marriage Story, written and directed by Noah Baumbach, slated for release this December.
Scarlett shared that the first piece of jewelry Noah gifted her had a strange sense of familiarity. However, it wasn’t because of her current situation at that time. Instead, it could be attributed to the way she was raised and the relationship dynamics between her parents. In fact, she knew women who dedicated themselves entirely to their partner’s vision and ended up feeling like they lost their identity after years of being in the relationship. Scarlett empathized with her character’s struggles and saw this as a fantastic opportunity to showcase it on the big screen.
During autumn of 2017, she had a lunch meeting with a 50-year-old filmmaker who gave her a monologue. As she listened to him, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of familiarity that she couldn’t quite explain.
